Colinette and Jo Sharp

After working about one-fifth of the way through my Waterlilies throw, I tossed it aside to work on the Colinette throw I assembled myself. I'm almost halfway through and it's quite eye-catching (in a good way).

But the really happy news is that all the new Jo Sharp sample cards arrived from Gina, and they're just wonderful. I also got Book Two and have already ordered 14 skeins of Silkroad Aran Tweed in Tartan to make "Juniper" for my husband. There are about a billion things I want for myself, too, and am having the hardest time deciding which colors I want. The whole Silkroad Aran Tweed palette is so alluring. I love the new mohair she came up with, too.

Of course, having just bought a house, just the yarn for my husband is a splurge so the rest will have to wait.

Hey, Mom! Want me to bring all the new cards with me when I come to visit? Ooh, I'll bring a skein of the Tartan, too, if it arrives in time.

The ground is covered with new snow up here. By the time it's done, we'll have a total of 3-7". I think that makes over 3' of snowfall for the year so far. It's such a change from Hawaii and we love it. I especially love the area we're living in. It's right in the foothills of the Adirondacks and the mountains are so beautiful to see around us. We're literally 10 minutes away from skiing! We're going to get Connor in less than 2 weeks and he'll be staying with us for 3. Spence is going to teach him how to ski and hopefully we'll get a chance to go during this visit. Matt and I will just be spectators, of course, but it would be a lot of fun.

I'm also having fun setting up Connor's room. It's making me so happy to be making a space for him in my home, to finally be somewhere that he can come be part of our lives instead of us just going to visit him. I'm pretty excited, if you can't tell! :) :) :)

And now Matt's letting me know it's time for me to get off the computer :)

It's great to see you back on line, but it was even better seeing you in person! I knew Connor would love being with you in your home and it's so cool you were able to make him his own room - I know he feels at home with you as he does with his daddy too! A kid can never have too much love! He was so happy to see you again!
